Join HIAS+JCORE and JW3 on 17 June 2026 for the launch of ‘Not Only for Ourselves’, the history of JCORE. 

This fascinating book – authored by Joseph Finlay – explores the organisation’s history and role leading Jewish anti-racist activism since 1976. 

Held during Refugee Week 2026, you will hear from:

  • Dr Edie Friedman, HIAS+JCORE’s Honorary President, who founded JCORE in 1976 and ran the organisation for 46 years
  • Rabbi David Mason, HIAS+JCORE’s Executive Director since 2023 
  • Dr Joseph Finlay, the book’s author 

Our speakers will explore JCORE’s evolution over the decades and consider the context in 2026 – a time when our work challenging hate and welcoming refugees in the UK is more important than ever.
